Hi, this is Dave Jones with EPA's regional office in San Francisco. It pays to recycle. The amount of energy saved each year in the United States through recycling is equal to 400 million barrels of oil. That's the energy equivalent of taking 47 million cars off the road, or enough energy to heat all the homes in Texas, California, and Illinois combined. And recycling creates 1.2 million jobs in this country. So go out, recycle, and have a good Earth Day. Thank you.
