Enforcement and Compliance Data
Enforcement and compliance data is entered into several national data systems to manage and assess performance of the Agency's enforcement and compliance assurance program. These systems support specific and multimedia environmental statutes.
Recent federal enforcement and compliance assurance data is available using these data systems. Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) and Envirofacts provide the easiest access for the public.
 |
ECHO provides direct access to EPA and state compliance information of more than 800,000 regulated facilities nationwide, for facilities regulated under the Clean Air Act (CAA) stationary sources, Clean Water Act (CWA) facilities with direct discharge permits (under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System), and generators/handlers of hazardous waste regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The data in ECHO is updated monthly. |
 |
Envirofacts provides public access to data from several EPA data systems. Users can develop on-line queries, create reports and map results about a particular subject area from a list of available Topics, which includes Air, Land, Water, Waste, Toxics, Radiation, Facility, Compliance, Other, and Maps. |
