The following is a list of some organizations that utilize unwanted medical devices, equipment and supplies ranging from eyeglasses to hospital equipment. Local hospitals and nursing homes often accept donations.

Founded in 1995, IMEC is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that distributes donated medical equipment, supplies, and support services to doctors, nurses and technologists working in hospitals, clinics, and orphanages in underserved locations worldwide.

Description: New Eyes for the Needy collects used eyeglasses, jewelry
and giftware. Eyeglasses are distributed overseas and money from
sales of jewelry and giftware is used to fund vouchers for glasses
for needy Americans.

Description: REMEDY (Recovered Medical Equipment for the Developing
World), is a private, voluntary organization composed of doctors,
nurses, hospital volunteers, and others whose collective efforts
are directed at transferring discarded but usable medical supplies
to developing nations, while source reducing regulated waste, and
saving money in our hospitals in the U.S. There is no charge for
their services or teaching materials.

Description: Sankara Cancer Foundation is a US-based 501(c)(3) charity with the mission to bring cancer education, screening and treatment programs to the needy amongst us. We also focus on helping the physically disadvantaged get back on their feet and become independent, productive citizens of society.
One of our projects is to bring universal cancer screening to all women in India. The first program of SCF is to create a full-fledged cervical and breast cancer program at the Hindu Mission Hospital in Trichy, South India.
Another project is to help the physically disadvantaged. We are looking for donations of any mobility devices (arm crutches, elbow crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, baby joggers, and removable casts) that we will arrange to transport in bulk and donate to the needy.
