Sustainable Schools Webinar Series

Reducing Waste in Schools: Cafeteria Waste Stations

Our webinar, "Reducing Waste in Schools: Cafeteria Waste Stations," took a look at managing waste in the cafeteria. We heard from 3 NYC schools about how they have set up recycling and waste collection in their cafeterias to minimize waste and educate their students.

On Thursday, May 10, 2012 we hosted panelists: Principal Alison Hazut of the Earth School, Sustainability Coordinator Matt Sheehan and Paraprofessional Johanna Esteras from The Brooklyn New School (PS146) and Sustainability Coordinator Pamela Scott from Inwood Intermediate School (IS52), who shared how they set up their waste stations and the lessons they learned along the way.
