Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS)

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard proposes to implement a unified monitoring project for Sinclair Inlet as part of its Pollution Prevention program. The project would consist of creating a coordinated and consistent system to monitor the marine environment affected by shipyard activities and an electronic database of relevant environmental data. As part of this project, PSNS proposes reduced compliance burdens under seven environmental statutes relating to marine systems, including CWA, RCRA, HSWA, CERCLA/SARA, CZMA, TSCA, MPRSA, and the Rivers and Harbors Act. PSNS seeks specific improvements in the implementation and criteria for regulations of total maximum daily load (TMDL) and wasteload allocations for water bodies.
