The Molex project provides flexibility to the facility in managing their wastes. Molex suggests that recognizing their waste as valuable by-products and reclassifying them as hazardous materials, not hazardous wastes, would result in significant financial savings and an environmental benefit. Molex' electroplating facility currently qualifies under 40 CFR Part 266 Subpart F - Recyclable Materials Utilized for Precious Metal Recovery, Molex suggests expanding this applicability to any recyclable material that has significant value and differentiating between a waste and a valuable by-product.
