Dear Cynthia:

This is to confirm our recent telephone conversation regarding our application to the XL Project. It was our intention to develop a project which would be jointly carried out by Monsanto and NRDC. Despite best efforts by both Monsanto and NRDC, we have not identified an appropriate project at this time. Therefore, we request that our application be withdrawn.

Monsanto and NRDC are continuing to work together to identify useful environmental and sustainability projects. Should we begin work on one in the future which matches the goals and objectives of XL, we will contact you.
