Dear Ms. Moran,
I am writing to you in support of Merck's Project XL, developed in cooperation with the local community, the National Park Service, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VADEC) and the EPA.
Approval of the project will have an immediate benefit to environmental quality in the area. It will further benefit the community by making Merck's Stonewall plant more attractive to the company as a site for product expansion and new product introduction, resulting in increased employment opportunities for people living in the Shenandoah valley.
The direct involvement of the local community in the oversight of the project is also a definite plus. Projects like this, forged by cooperation of industry, government and the citizenry, are to be applauded. I look forward to the approval and implementation of Project XL.
