Dear Ms. Moran,

I wish to advise you of my views regarding Merck & Co., Inc., Elkton, VA., applying for a Prevention of Significant Deterioration Air Permit.

During the past twenty years I have been closely associated with Merck & Co., Elkton, VA. I knew the company to be a good steward of our environment, and Merck has been willing to go the extra mile to be a good neighbor.

I am a Merck retiree. I always felt safe in the Elkton facility. The executive staff have high integrity, and will do what they say.

My wife and I are frequent visitors to the Shenandoah National Park, and we believe that Merck will do their part to protect the air quality in the park.
