The Status of OPs in the Pilot Public Participation Process

The following provides a status to date (4/27/99) of the OPs in every Phase of the pilot public participation process.

Process Phases Number of OPs in each Phase

Pre-Phase 1 ------ Preliminary risk assessments for 10 OPs are now being prepared for the public participation process.

Phase 1 ----------- Zero OPs are now in the registrant error-only comment period.

Phase 2 ----------- Registrant error correction comments on preliminary risk assessments are now being considered for 2 OPs.

Phase 3 ------------ Zero preliminary risk assessments are available for public comment.

Phase 4 ------------ Public comments on preliminary risk assessments are now being considered for 27 OPs, and revised risk assessments are being developed.

Other -------------- 9 OPs have been canceled or are in the process of being canceled.
