Staff Paper #24
TRAC 7/28/98
DECISION-MAKING CRITERIA ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION
Issues pertaining to decision-making criteria
that are being presented for discussion by the TRAC Workgroup #2 on
7/27/98.
-
What process should the Agency use in soliciting input in its selection of
decision-making criteria?
-
Should the criteria be weighted relative to each other (i.e., which criteria
are most important and which are least important in the decision-making
process)?
-
Should certain criteria be used to identify OP/use combinations to be targeted
for priority action by the agency? If yes, which ones?
-
What type of process should be used for ranking and/or comparing OP uses
based on the criteria (e.g., Qualitative--high/medium/low vs. Quantified
rankings)?
-
Is it appropriate to use risk related decision-making criteria in selecting
among OP/use combinations, or does this constitute risk double-counting (after
a risk-related criteria has been used to make initial decisions, should it
be used for subsequent decisions)?
