7/26/02 | Tolerance Exemption Established - This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of 1-Methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) in or on fruits and vegetables when used as a post harvest plant growth regulator, i.e., for the purpose of inhibiting the effects of ethylene. AgroFresh, Inc. (formerly BioTechnologies for Horticulture) submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance.
