5/5/04 Tolerance Exemption Correction - EPA issued a final rule in the Federal Register of 3/31/04, concerning the establishment of an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the biochemical, rhamnolipid biosurfactant, on all food commodities when applied/used as a fungicide. This document is being issued to correct a chemical name error.
4/28/04 New Active Ingredient Approval - EPA issued a notice, published in the FR on 5/07/2003 which announced that Jeneil Biosurfactant Company of Saukville, WI had submitted an application to register the pesticide product, ZONIXTM Biofungicide, a biochemical fungicide containing the new active ingredient, rhamnolipid biosurfactant. This product was not previously registered. The application was approved on March 23, 2004, as ZONIXTM Biofungicide (EPA Registration Number 72431-1) for the prevention and control of zoosporic pathogenic fungi in agricultural, horticultural and turf settings.
3/31/04 Tolerance Exemption Established - This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the biochemical, rhamnolipid biosurfactant, on all food commodities when applied/used as a fungicide. Jeneil Biosurfactant Company submitted a petition to EPA requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of rhamnolipid biosurfactant.

5/9/03 Petition for Temporary Tolerance Exemption - EPA has received a pesticide petition 1F6288 from Jeneil Biosurfactant Company, 400 N. Dekora Woods Boulevard, Saukville, Wisconsin 53080, proposing to establish an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for the biochemical pesticide rhamnolipid biosurfactant in or on all food commodities. Rhamnolipid biosurfactant is intended for the prevention and control of plant pathogenic fungi on horticultural and agricultural crops.
5/7/03 Application for New Active Ingredient Registration - EPA received an application as follows to register a pesticide product containing an active ingredient not included in any previously registered product pursuant to the provision of section 3(c)(4) of FIFRA. File Symbol: 72431-R. Applicant: Jeneil Biosurfactant Company, 400 N. Dekora Woods Boulevard, Saukville, WI 53080. Active ingredient: Rhamnolipid biosurfactant (decanoic acid, 3-[[6-deoxy-2-O- (6-deoxy-alpha-L-mannopyranosyl)-alpha-L-mannopyranosyl]oxy]-, 1- (carboxymethyl) octyl ester, mixture with 1-(carboxymethyl)octyl 3-[(6- deoxy-alpha-L-annopyranosyl)oxy]decanoate). For horticultural and agricultural use to control zoosporic plant pathogenic fungi.
