1/18/06 Tolerance Exemption Established - This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the thymol (5-methyl-2-isopropyl-1- phenol) on honey, honeycomb, and honeycomb with honey when applied/used as treatment to decrease the incidence of Varroa mite infestation in the honey bee. Vita (Europe) Limited, c/o Landis International Limited, submitted a petition to EPA requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of thymol (5-methyl-2-isopropyl-1-phenol).

4/27/05 Petition for Tolerance Exemption - EPA has received a pesticide petition 3F6752 from Vita (Europe) Limited, c/o Landis International, Valdosta, GA, proposing pursuant to amend 40 CFR part 180 to establish an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for the biochemical pesticide thymol.

4/4/01 Petition for Tolerance Exemption (PP-1E6251) EPA has received a pesticide petition from Interregional Research Project Number 4 (IR-4), Technology Centre of New Jersey, Rutgers University of North Brunswick, NJ, proposing  to amend 40 CFR part 180 to establish an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for the biochemical pesticide Thymol in or on the raw agricultural commodities honey and beeswax.
