6/27/01 New Active Ingredient Approval - EPA issued a notice, published in the FR on 12/28/99 which announced that PROPHYTA Biologischer Pflanzenschutz GmbH, c/o Technology Sciences Group, Inc, of Washington, DC, had submitted an application to register the pesticide product containing Coniothyrium minitans strain CON/M/91-08.  The application was approved on March 16, 2001, as Contans WG (EPA Registration Number 72444-1) for use in agricultural soils to control Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Sclerotinia minor, common plant pathogens which cause white mold, pink rot, and water soft rot.
3/28/01 Exemption from the Requirement of a Tolerance This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the Coniothyrium minitans strain CON/M/ 91-08 on all food commodities when applied/used according to label instructions. Prophyta Biologischer Pflanzenschutz Gmbh submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) of 1996, requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of Coniothyrium minitans strain CON/M/91-08.
