6/03/05 Conditional Approval of Active Ingredient

1. EPA issued a notice, published in the Federal Register of November 14, 2003 (68 FR 64623) (FRL-7331-8), which announced that Prophyta Biologischer Pflanzenschutz GmbH, Germany, c/o WF Stoneman Company, LLC, McFarland, WI, had submitted an application to register the pesticide product, MeloCon WG, a nematicide specific for plant root nematodes (72444-E), containing the fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus strain 251 at 6.0%, an active ingredient not included in any previously registered product. The application was conditionally approved on March 30, 2005 for the end-use product: MeloCon, for use against parasitic plant root nematodes on vegetables, certain fruits, turf, ornamentals, and tobacco (EPA Reg. No. 72444-2).
4/13/05 Tolerance Exemption Established - This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus (P. lilacinus) strain 251 in or on food commodities when applied or used in accordance with label directions. Prophyta Biologischer Pflanzenschutz GmbH, Germany submitted a petition to EPA requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. Notification that EPA had received the petition was published on November 7, 2003. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of P. lilacinus strain 251.

11/07/03 Petition for Tolerance Exemption - EPA has received a pesticide petition 3F6737 from W.F. Stoneman Company LLC (on behalf of Prophyta Biologischer Pflanzenschutz GmbH), 6307 Mourning Dove Drive, McFarland, Wisconsin 53558-9019, proposing to amend 40 CFR part 180, to establish an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the microbial pesticide Paecilomyces lilacinus strain 251 (P. lilacinus).
