This describes the installation of Microsoft Access 2002 (XP)
Runtime software for users of the EPA NONROAD2005 model who
do not already have your own full version of MS-Access 2002
(or later) on your computer.

If you downloaded access-inst.zip from the web, then you first
must unZip all the files from the access-inst.zip file into a
temporary directory. Then follow the instructions below, as if
you were installing from a CD, but you will be looking at the
files in the temporary directory on your hard drive, instead of
the CD.

If installing from a CD, open the \access-inst\ directory.
Run (double-click on) the file accessrt.msi (which
is an executable setup file), and follow the on-screen
installation directions. This should automatically install
the MS-Access Runtime software. This will allow you to open,
but not modify, existing MS-Access databases, such as the
NONROAD reporting utility (reports.mdb).

One way to verify if this installation was successful by looking
in your Control Panel Add/Remove Programs utility for Access 2002
Runtime.

For use with the NONROAD model you should check the last line
of the nr-gui.ini file to ensure that it points to the MS-Access
executable file, MSACCESS.EXE.

Examples of likely places you would find it are shown here:

Windows XP
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\MSACCESS.EXE

Windows 98
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Access Runtime\Office10\MSACCESS.EXE
