Pesticide News Story: EPA Extends the Public Comment Period on Fumigant Iodomethane Petition

On March 17, 2011, EPA initiated a comment period on a petition requesting that all registrations of iodomethane (also called methyl iodide) be suspended and cancelled. The comment period was scheduled to close on April 25, 2011. The comment period has been extended to May 13, 2011. Following the public comment period, EPA will evaluate the petitioner’s request consistent with the statutory standards set forth in the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act.
