Pesticide News Story: EPA Releases Its Response to Public Comments on Plans to Improve the Safety of Pet Spot-On Flea and Tick Products

On September 30, 2011, the Pesticide Program released its response to the comments received on its proposed plan for increasing the safety of spot-on flea and tick products for pets. The mitigation plan was developed as the result of an intensive examination in 2009-2010 of reported incidents of companion animals being harmed by registered spot-on flea and tick products. The pulic comment period ended on May 17, 2010.
The response to comments document has been added to the EPA-HQ-OPP-2010-0229 docket at http://www.regulations.gov, where the many comments received from the public can also be viewed.
