Pesticide News Story: Clarification of Instructions for Tribal Pesticide Program Grant Solicitation
For Release: May 8, 2009
EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs is clarifying the instructions for applicants in its solicitation for logistical and administrative assistance to support the Tribal Pesticide Program Council (TPPC) as it works to strengthen tribal pesticide programs. Those clarifications are:
- Since grants.gov is not being used for submissions, all instructions related to this site have been removed, and the correct link to EPA's Office of Grants and Debarment (OGD) Web page where applicants can find all required forms is provided.
- In the instructions for preparing a detailed budget, a link is provided to an OGD Web page with guidelines and a sample budget.
No other substantive changes have been made to the solicitation. Proposals are due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on June 2, 2009. For more information, please see the Request for Proposal - Tribal Pesticide Program Council (TPPC) Administrator (PDF) (23pp, 118K, about PDF). If you still have questions, contact Mary Powell (powell.mary@epa.gov).
The TPPC informs member tribes of pesticide issues, promotes pesticide education and awareness, and assists in the establishment, development, and implementation of comprehensive tribal pesticide programs. The TPPC also is a forum for tribal pesticide and environmental officials to raise tribal pesticide program implementation issues to EPA, offer input on national pesticide policy that affects tribes and offers a network for tribal pesticide officials to share information.
The total funding for the five-year period of the cooperative agreement is about $1 million and up to an additional $20,000 in-kind contribution for the use of EPA conference rooms and AV equipment. Approximately $195,000 is expected to be available in fiscal year 2009. At the conclusion of the first year of performance, incremental funding of approximately $200,000 may be made available for each year, depending on the Agency’s budget, allowing the project to continue for a total of five years.
