Pesticide News Story: Exclusive Use Provisions of FIFRA for Minor Uses Explained
For Release: June 26, 2009
Questions and Answers are available about exclusive use provisions for minor use registrations. Minor uses of pesticides are important because they support production of fruits and vegetables, and control human pathogens and disease vectors. The new Qs and As clarify what the exclusive use provisions are under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, give instructions on submitting requests, and describe EPA's process for determining exclusive use data protection for minor use registrations.
This July, EPA will provide more transparency to the exclusive use process by adding to the Minor Use Web site information about current exclusive use requests, and past requests with the Agency's decisions. New requests will be posted in the future.
The Qs and As are now on EPA's Minor Use Web site.
