Pesticide News Story: Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee to Meet October 7-8, 2008

On October 7-8, 2008, EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) will hold a public meeting of the Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC). The meeting will be held Tuesday, October 7, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Wednesday, October 8, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon in OPP’s first floor conference center at One Potomac Yard, 2777 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22202.
A draft agenda is available on the PPDC Web site. Agenda topics include sessions on:
- endangered species,
- endocrine disruptors,
- resources and funding,
- pollinator protection,
- incident data,
- performance and outcome measures,
- PPDC work group on 21st century toxicology and new integrated testing strategies,
- PPDC work group on comparative safety statements for pesticide product labeling,
- and brief updates on the PPDC work group on web-distributed labeling; current regulatory activities; pesticide usage information; and resistance management.
Time will be allocated on both days for public comment, and outside statements by observers are encouraged and welcomed. Each oral statement will, however, be limited to 3-5 minutes, and it is preferred that only one person per organization present a statement. Any person who wishes to file a written statement may do so before or after the meeting.
