Pesticide News Story: EPA’s OPP Invites Nominations for Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee

EPA's Office of Pesticide Programs' current Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC) will reach the end of its two-year term in November 2007. In preparation for the renewal of the PPDC Charter for the November 2007 – November 2009 term, OPP is inviting nominations of qualified candidates to be considered for appointment. OPP seeks to maintain balance and diversity of experience and expertise and broad geographic representation from the following sectors: Pesticide industry and trade associations; environmental/public interest and consumer groups; farm worker organizations; pesticide user, grower, and commodity groups; Federal/State/local and Tribal governments; academia; public health organizations; individuals who are concerned about urban pest management issues; and the general public. The PPDC was established in 1995 under the Federal Advisory Committee Act and serves to provide advice and recommendations to OPP on a broad range of regulatory, policy, and program implementation issues associated with evaluating and reducing risks from the use of pesticides. Nominations must be e-mailed or postmarked no later than August 17, 2007, to Margie Fehrenbach at the address listed below.
