Pesticide News Story: NAFTA Technical Working Group Meeting Planned for December 7, 2006

The NAFTA Technical Working Group on Pesticides (TWG) will hold its annual stakeholder meeting on December 7, 2006, in Montreal, Canada. This meeting provides an opportunity for the three participating NAFTA countries to raise public awareness of successes in the joint review process, data harmonization, and other achievements under the group’s current 5-year strategy, as well as discuss topics of mutual interest. Issues relating to Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) and the technology gap will be discussed, as well as the group’s efforts to address trade irritants and other, non-agricultural matters. Three break-out groups will give stakeholders the opportunity to provide input and raise any questions they may have relating to these issues.
