Example Design: Sampling Locations National Lake Survey

In this example the target population was all lakes in the 48 States and the objective was to obtain estimates of the fish tissue contaminant within the Nation's Lakes. Sub-populations of Lakes were determined based on lake size and different inclusion probabilities (weights) were assigned to the lakes within those sub-populations. The GRTS Design was then used to select the sample of lakes for the survey.
