On September 15 - 16, 2003, EPA's National Center for Environmental Research (NCER) coordinated an NNCO-sponsored workshop to determine how environmental applications and implications cross-cut research in nanotech and how agencies and researchers can better cooperate and communicate their research, and coordinate in this area.

On August 18 - 20, 2004, research results from EPA-sponsored nanotechnology grants in nanotechnology were presented at a workshop open to members of the academic, government, and industrial communities as well as the general public.
