Lajos P. Balogh
Lajos P. Balogh is a Research Associate Professor of Biologic Nanotechnology and of Macromolecular Science and Engineering in the Department of Internal Medicine and in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He leads the Nano-materials and Nanocomposites Group in the Center for Biologic Nanotechnology at the Medical School and also participates in the activities of the MACRO Program run by the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. Dr Balogh has published 54 papers, 10 patents, and has delivered over a hundred talks on diverse fields. He is presently involved in various interdisciplinary research directions. He is the co-inventor of dendrimer-based nanocomposites and an internationally known expert in dendrimers and nanocomposites. Since 1996, his research interests are nanoscience and nanotechnology in general, specifically dendritic polymers, dendrimer based nanocomposites, nanomaterials, nanostructures, and inorganic/organic hybrid materials with engineered surfaces and their applications in life sciences, in materials science, and in environmental remediation.
