Ms. Pam Henson began teaching environmental science in 1984 and continued until 1997, when she left the classroom and became an administrator. Her work in environmental education spans the last 22 years. Ms Henson has implemented numerous award-winning environmental programs which include: Project SWEEP, Project STARS, Project PLANET, Project SEAS, and GLOBE. She also helped to design and locate funding to build three aqua-science centers in the Mobile, Alabama area. She has located funding to assist with seagrass restoration, and painting a diorama of the Weeks Bay Reserve, which is now being used as a teaching tool across the Baldwin County School system. She has been recognized by the White House twice for her work in the field of science. (Presidential Award for Science and Alabama’s Teacher of the Year)
