MEDIA ADVISORY: EPA, STATE TO ANNOUNCE FAR-REACHING ENVIRONMENTAL PACT

BOSTON -- Top officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection will hold a press conference Tuesday, Oct. 6 at a Somerville printing facility to announce a major agreement between the two agencies that will streamline permitting and reporting processes in the state.

Who: EPA-New England Administrator John P. DeVillars Jay Benforado, EPA Office of Reinvention DEP Commissioner David Struhs Bill Shea, Ames Specialty Packaging Jim Gomes, Environmental League of Massachusetts

What: Press Conference, Signing Ceremony.

Where: Ames Specialty Packaging, 30 Dane Street, Somerville (Near Union Square)

When: 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 1998

Directions: Coming from Boston: From McGrath Highway, take a left onto Washington Street into Union Square. At the first light, take a right, take another right at the next light, then bear left onto Bow Street. Bear right onto Somerville Avenue. Go about 2/10 of a mile and turn left onto Bow Street. Ames is on the left, park in the parking lot and enter the door under the blue awning.
