Highlights new clean air rule to improve air quality

EPA Deputy Regional Administrator Stan Meiburg will tour the new Lowe's construction site in Greenville on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. During the tour, Deputy Regional Administrator Meiburg will highlight the Agency's new proposed Clean Air Nonroad Diesel Rule. The new rule will cut emission levels from construction, agricultural, and industrial diesel-powered equipment by more than 90 percent. Also, the new rule will remove 99 percent of the sulfur in diesel fuel by 2010, resulting in dramatic reductions in soot from al diesel engines.
