EPA Employee Receives Top Award of Black Law Enforcement Organization

(07/18/03) On July 14, Barbara F. Foreman, of EPA’s Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics and Training (OCEFT), received the Robert Lamb Humanitarian Award for Human Welfare and Social Reform at the annual conference of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) in Tulsa, Okla. One of three awards presented annually by NOBLE, the award recognizes a person whose law enforcement work demonstrates that it has changed social consciousness, improved human conditions, and achieved social justice. Foreman was recognized for developing a joint EPA/NOBLE training and public awareness partnership designed to more comprehensively combat environmental crimes in economically disadvantaged areas affecting the most vulnerable members of the public.
