CHICAGO (Oct. 30, 2009) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Great Lakes National Program Office and state partner Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will celebrate the $22 million Great Lakes Legacy Act cleanup in Milwaukee's Kinnickinnic River.

WHAT: Participants will explain how this urban river cleanup, the result of many years of planning and collaboration, will benefit this Wisconsin community. The Kinnickinnic River project is the sixth sediment cleanup project under the Great Lakes Legacy Act of 2004 and the second project in Wisconsin. In 2005, sediment was removed in Newton Creek and Hog Island Inlet in Superior.

WHERE: Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling, 2000 S. 4th St., Milwaukee. Event will take place on the banks of the Kinnickinnic River with refreshments following in the new Boater's Lounge.
