CORRECTION OF PRESS ADVISORY
The press advisory of June 20, was in error to associate Ecolab with Agency opinions on alkyl phenol ethoxylates. Further, in that press advisory EPA made the following statement: “ . . . Ecolab will discontinue using alkyl phenol ethoxylates and inorganic phosphates in the manufacture of its TurboRev line of detergent products . . . .” The correct statement should read: “Ecolab’s TurboRev product line does not and has never contained alkyl phenol ethoxylates or inorganic phosphates.” In fact, TurboRev uses linear alcohol ethoxylates, which biodegrade rapidly to substances with low toxicity, to achieve a detergent with superior resource savings and positive environmental attributes.
