EPA to Hold Availability Session Regarding Rhoderia Drum Site in Stallings, N.C.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold an availability session regarding the Rhoderia Drum Site in Stallings, North Carolina on Thursday, March 18, 2004. The availability session will be held from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Indian Trail Elementary Media Center, 200 Education Road, Indian Trail, North Carolina. EPA officials will be available to provide information, answer questions, and address citizen concerns about the clean up activities planned for the Site. The Rhoderia Drum site is located in a rural residential neighborhood in Stallings, Union County, North Carolina, southeast of Charlotte. The site is approximately one acre and includes three wooded, undeveloped residential lots. No structures are on the site and the property is heavily vegetated with mature trees and thick undergrowth. Portions of buried drums and debris are exposed to the surface. Previous environmental analysis of the soil indicates that portions of the property contain soil with concentrations of lead at levels of concern.
