National Smart Growth Conference Scheduled Feb. 7-9 in Kansas City, Mo.

(Lenexa, Kan., Feb. 5, 2013) - EPA will join local elected officials, city and county staff, state and federal agency leaders, planners, architects, real estate agents, developers, and others committed to building safer, healthier and more livable communities at the national New Partners for Smart Growth Conference Feb. 7-9 in Kansas City, Mo.

The three-day conference will include more than 90 sessions about a wide range of issues related to smart growth. Participants in the conference will learn about measures to improve pedestrian access and safety, green infrastructure and economic health assessment.

The conference will also feature 15 tours of Kansas City and surrounding areas to educate participants about the region’s history, environmental justice issues, recent partnerships between businesses and government, and other smart growth strategies the city has pursued.
