EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will join Congressman, Michael McNulty, Albany Mayor, Gerald Jennings, and Schenectady Mayor, Albert Jurczynski at a press conference in Albany, New York Monday, June 21, 1999 to make a major funding announcement that will benefit several New York communities, as well as discuss the Clinton Administration’s Brownfields Redevelopment Initiative and the Better America Bonds Initiative.

The Clinton Administration’s Brownfields Redevelopment Initiative has been a centerpiece of the Administration’s efforts to breathe new life, new opportunity, and new hope into the nation’s central cities and isolated rural areas. The Administration’s Livability Agenda provides new tools for state and local governments to help communities grow in ways that ensure a high quality of life and strong, sustainable economic growth. One aspect of the Livability Agenda is the Better America Bonds initiative - a new innovative tool to help communities preserve open spaces, protect water quality and clean up Brownfields.
