EPA ANNOUNCES REFORMS TO SPEED HAZARDOUS
WASTE CLEANUP AT INDUSTRIAL SITES


On Jan. 11, EPA Assistant Administrator Timothy Fields, Jr., will announce a second round of administrative reforms to ensure that human exposures and groundwater releases are under control at targeted facilities. First begun in 1999, these reforms will speed cleanup under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action program. DIRECTIONS:
From St. Louis Airport:

I-70/170 east to I-170 north (exit 238C). Get in the left lane immediately and continue on I-170 north. Exit left onto I-270 east toward Chicago (exit 10B). Continue on I-270 east crossing the Mississippi River and Corps of Engineers Channel. Exit at Illinois Route 3-Alton, North (exit 3B). Wood River is seven miles north. Pass three stop lights on Route 3 (New Poag Road, Piasa Lane and Hawthorne Street). At the fourth stop light, turn right onto Illinois 143, Wood River exit. Turn right onto Lakin Blvd. Turn first right onto Rock Hill Road. About one mile to Belk Park. Golf course and club house on the left. Driving time to Belk Park is approximately one hour.

From St Louis:

I-64 east/U.S. 40 east toward Illinois. I-64/U.S. 40 east becomes I-64 east/I-55 north/I-70 east. Take I-55 north/I-70 east/U.S. 40 east - Chicago/Indianapolis lanes on the left. Take exit 10/I-255 toward Memphis (I-270). Remain in the left lane IL-255 north. IL-255 will end in Wood River at IL-143. Turn left at light onto IL-143. Turn right onto Lakin Blvd. Turn first right onto Rock Hill Road. About one mile to Belk Park. Golf course and club house on the left. Driving time to Belk Park is approximately 40 minutes.
