Great Lakes meeting to be held in Superior Aug. 4

CHICAGO (July 27, 2005) — The Great Lakes Regional Collaboration has scheduled the third of its six public meetings for Superior, Wis., on Thursday, Aug. 4 at Barker's Island Motel, 300 Marina Drive, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The public meetings will provide a chance for people to comment on the Draft Strategy to Restore and Protect the Great Lakes. The plan was prepared by the Great Lakes Regional Collaboration, a partnership of federal, state, and local governments, tribes and other interested parties to work on Great Lakes environmental and natural resource issues. The collaboration was formed as a result of an executive order signed by President Bush in May 2004.

Although there will be an opportunity to speak and make comments at the meeting, only written comments will be considered.
