Utah environmental education project gets EPA funds

      Denver -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in July awarded a grant of $25,000 to help fund a Utah environmental education project.
"These grants support projects that enhance public awareness, knowledge and skills, so people can make informed decisions that affect environmental quality," said EPA's Region 8 Administrator, Robert Roberts.
    The Environmental Education Grant Program is sponsored by the EPA's Office of Environmental Education. Since 1992, EPA has received between $2 and $3 million in grant funding per year and has awarded approximately 2,500 grants.For more information on the EPA Region 8 grant program, visit https://www.epa.gov/enviroed/grants.html.

    This project builds capacity by bringing together environmental education leaders and organizations; providing a localized professional development opportunity for EE communities throughout the state, and providing communication/networking opportunities for regional EE communities.
