EPA awards over $140,000 to the City of Houston to replace water lines and plug wells

(Dallas, Texas – May 10, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $144,300 to the City of Houston for the Houston Wrenwood Drinking Water System, which has been placed under receivership by the State of Texas. The state has asked the city to take over the drinking water system. The city intends to use the funding, along with city’s matching share, to replace all water lines and plug wells. This project supports the goal of providing clean and safe water to area residents.
