EPA awards over $200,000 to the City of El Paso to study air pollution

(Dallas, Texas – October 29, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded $242,394 to the City of El Paso to study hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). HAPs, also known as air toxics, are pollutants that are known or suspected to cause cancer and other serious health effects. Officials will monitor HAPs in multiple residential areas and other locations, and characterize the level of HAPs in these areas.
