Baltimore, Maryland, the site of a recent large-scale accidental release, will be the co-host of the International HAZMAT Spills Prevention Conference on December 10-13. EPA Region III's Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention Conference Office and EPA headquarters are the cosponsors for this international meeting. The conference will feature workshops and lectures on chemical process safety, accident prevention, emergency management and planning, case studies and regulatory requirements. The conference will include lessons learned from the past and first-hand accounts from those who were there. Also, the conference will provide hands-on training and lectures on the newly-redesigned CAMEO® program. Beginner and advanced CAMEO® classes will be offered. These classes will provide a broad overview of the data and functions in CAMEO®. This includes searching the chemical database, storing and retrieving EPCRA data, and simple reports. Registration is $150 and rooms at the new Baltimore Waterfront Marriott are $145 for federal government employees (1-800-228-9290). Exhibit booths are also available.
