EPA/HUD Joint Statement on the Picher, Oklahoma, Housing Authority

(Dallas, Texas – January 26, 2009) Officials of the Regional offices of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are working together to ensure that families living in the Picher area are not adversely affected by the Tar Creek Superfund site. EPA and HUD support the voluntary relocation of residents currently under way. Both agencies will continue to work closely with Governor Henry and Senator Inhofe to address individual needs of those who lost their homes in recent disasters.
