CHANGE OF VENUE: EPA Hydraulic Fracturing Public Meetings Moved to Oncenter Complex Convention Center in Syracuse, New York; Same Times, Same Day, Different City

New York, NY - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has moved its three public meetings on its hydraulic fracturing study to the Oncenter Complex Convention Center in Syracuse, New York. The date and times of the three meetings remain the same: the 3 sessions will be held 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. EDT on Thursday, August 12 at the Oncenter Complex Convention Center in Syracuse. This new facility provided a contract with acceptable terms and conditions and will provide ample space at a cost that is fair and reasonable to taxpayers.

NEW LOCATION:

The Oncenter Complex Convention Center, Exhibit Hall, is located at 800 South State Street in Syracuse, New York. Directions to the venue can be found at: http://www.oncenter.org/attending/directions/.

All those who preregistered to speak or attend the Binghamton University location will remain preregistered for the new location.

Those who had not originally registered and are planning to attend are encouraged to preregister.

Registration can be completed online at: http://hfmeeting.cadmusweb.com/RegistrationForm.aspx or by calling 1-866-477-3635 (toll free). Online and telephone registration remains open until 10:00 a.m. on August 11, 2010, and walk-in attendees the day of the meeting are welcome. Due to significant interest by the public, all of the public speaking spots are currently filled. Speaking slots are expected to open up and EPA intends to open registration for these speaking slots via phone and the Web on Wednesday, August 11 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending when the slots are filled.

Depending on cancellations, walk-in speaker slots may also become available and may be reserved on-site the day of the meeting.

Please write “Hydraulic Fracturing Study – Comments” in the subject line of the message.
