U.S. EPA Recognizes Pesticide Reduction Grant Recipients

Greetings,

I'm writing to let you know about an event that was held last week at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Pacific Southwest Office in San Francisco. The event was to honor recent Pesticide Registration Improvement Renewal Act (PRIA) recipients and Steven Owens, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic-Substances, attended to present the recipients with big checks. These grant projects are particularly important as they are developing more environmentally safe methods for controlling pests in the agriculture industry. This is especially critical in California, due to the wide variety of agricultural commodities that are produced in the state and the economic value of ensuring pest control for the bounty of products produced.
