EPA Awards Over $100,000 to the Apache Tribe to Develop Environmental Protection Program

(Dallas, Texas – November 14, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $110,000 to the Apache Tribe to support the development of a core tribal environmental protection program. The Apache will use the funds to maintain an environmental department, network with other tribal environmental programs, perform community outreach, develop quality assurance documents, and create maps using GIS/GPS tools.
