New E-Rulemaking Web Site to Launch Thursday, January 23 at 2:30 P.M.

(01/22/03) A new U.S. government Web site will launch Thursday, January 23 at 2:30 p.m. making the federal rulemaking process more accessible to citizens and small businesses and enabling them to search quickly and comment on all open federal agency rules online. As a major step toward e-democracy, this one-stop rulemaking Web site lays the groundwork for streamlining the federal rulemaking process and improving the quality of rulemaking decisions.

• Credentialed Media with White House Hard Passes: Please gather no later than 2:00 p.m. outside the WhiteHouse briefing room. Press will then be escorted to the EEOB. You do not need to be cleared in.

• Credentialed Media without White House Hard Passes: Please e-mail name, Social Security number, and date of birth to megan_s._mollmann@omb.eop.gov. Please arrive at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance of the EEOB no later than 2:00 p.m. Press will then be escorted from the lobby to the event.
