Third Annual Collegiate Sports Sustainability Summit to be held in Atlanta

ATLANTA – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will join co-sponsors from educational institutions, non-profit organizations and industry to hold the third annual Collegiate Sports Sustainability Summit in Atlanta on June 24-26, 2013. The Georgia Institute of Technology will host the summit.

The summit encourages attendees to share information and best practices for incorporating sustainability into collegiate sports. Sessions will focus on product purchasing; marketing practices to promote sustainability at athletic events and identifying strategies to educate and engage fans in environmental stewardship.

The third annual summit was organized through a partnership with EPA, Keep America Beautiful, College & University Recycling Coalition, Green Sports Alliance, Coca-Cola Recycling, Georgia World Congress Center, RecycleMania, and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. The summit offers attendees the chance to share technical information and best practices for integrating sustainability into athletic departments and collegiate sports.
