EPA RELEASES PLAN FOR THE WASTE INFORMATION NEEDS INITIATIVE

EPA recently completed the first phase of its Waste Information Needs (WIN) Initiative, the Information Strategy Plan (ISP).  The ISP sets forth EPA's strategic vision of its future hazardous waste information systems to meet its responsibilities under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. This initiative is an effort to reassess all hazardous waste information and data needs including data quality needs of EPA, states, tribes and the public and private sector. This strategy also seeks to improve public access to hazardous waste information, to reduce the burden on data providers, and to match information technologies with user needs.
