Public Meetings to be held for the Jacksonville Ash and Brown’s Dump sites in Jacksonville, Florida

Atlanta, GA August 5, 2005) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold two public meetings to discuss proposed plans for the Jacksonville Ash and Brown’s Dump sites in Jacksonville, Florida.  The Brown’s Dump site meeting will be held on August 9, 2005 at the Clanzel Brown Center on 4415 Moncrief Road and the Jacksonville Ash site meeting will be held on August 10, 2005 at the Emmett Reed Center on 1093 West 6th Street in Jacksonville.  Both meetings will be begin at 5:30 P.M. and end at 7:00 P.M.  Interested citizens are encouraged to attend the public meeting. 

Prior to final selection of a remedy, EPA will consider oral and written comments from the public and provide responses to those comments. The comment period began on July 28, 2005 and will end on August 28, 2005.  Written comments on the proposed plans should be postmarked no later than midnight August 28, 2005 to:
